InterAct Festival

The InterAct Festival runs every year in October  - with disabled performers taking the stage to showcase their talents. Our first festival was back in 2011.

Our festival team is planning for 2025 - stay tuned for information.

Meanwhile, we'd like ideas from our disabled community for a theme for the 2025 festival.

The 2024 three-day festival at Te Pou Theatre at Henderson's Corbans Estate Arts Centre featured disabled actors, singers, musicians, dancers, drummers, kapahaka groups, choirs, artists and film-makers from all over Auckland and further afield. The daily wearable arts parade was a favourite - audience members got to dress-up to take part. And there were many artworks to see by disabled artists in our art exhibition. There were craft, dance and drama workshops, face painting and other fun activities.

More than 200 disabled performers took part.

Look out for information about the 2025 festival later in the year. Soloists, groups or schools are all invited to take part. And of course it's a great day out for our audiences - and it's FREE.

Look below for some amazing photos and videos of our past festivals (put together by our film making guru Hank Snell).
